Love2Move in NADB competition Oldenzaal, 2010 (Video)

We had fun in Oldenzaal. Together with the Love2Move team from Herman and Michèle Lak, we started our first competition of the season. Below you see the video of most of the Love2Move adult couples in the competition.

We hebben plezier gehad in Oldenzaal. Samen met het Love2Move team van Herman en Michèle Lak, zijn we onze eerste competitie van het seizoen gestart. Hieronder zie je een video van de Love2Move teamleden in de competitie.

De grote prijs van Twente, Oldenzaal

Dit was onze eerste wedstrijd na de zomerstop en we hadden er echt zin in. We hebben veel getraind en met onze nieuwe lesgevers Herman en Michèle Lak hebben toch heel wat veranderingen doorgevoerd aan houding, beweging en ons programma in de Tango. De Engelse Wals was voor iedereen een nieuw programma daar de NADB vanaf deze wedstrijd de basis dans heeft ingevoerd. We hebben er wel plezier in gehad. De eerste ronde verliep redelijk goed en we werden rechtstreeks geplaatst voor de halve finale. In de halve finale zijn we in problemen gekomen met onze Tango en Quickstep. Een slechte dansprestatie die we enkel aan ons zelf te wijten hebben. Volgende keer moet het gewoon beter. We eindigen op plaats 10 van 19 paren. Later deze week gaan we een video publiceren van de Love2Move Adults paren in Oldenzaal.

Mini Blackpool 2010, Kerkdriel - D-Class - IDSF

Mini Blackpool is now for us the second year in a row a good competition. We became 5th in 2009 and repeated this good result this year with a 4th place. Our first round was a complete disaster, we couldn't find each other and all dances were uncontrolled. Nevertheless we qualified directly for the semi final. The second round and the final were much better. We found our composure and increased the quality of our dances. We are pleased with the end result.

This year there was also an IDSF competition. We didn't participate, but enjoyed all the other very good couples. Below you find the videos of the IDSF final standard.

Mini Blackpool is voor het tweede jaar op rij een goede competitie voor ons. We werden 5de in 2009 en herhaalden dit goede resultaat door dit jaar 4de te worden. Onze eerste ronde was een complete ramp, we vonden elkaar niet en alle dansen waren zeer ongecontroleerd. Niettegenstaande kwalificeerden we ons rechtstreeks voor de halve finale. In de tweede ronde en de finale hebben we veel beter gedanst. We hebben onze rust teruggevonden en dit leidde tot een hogere kwaliteit in al onze dansen. We zijn tevreden met het eindresultaat.

Dit jaar was er ook een IDSF competitie. We hebben niet deelgenomen maar wel genoten van al deze zeer goede paren . Hieronder vind je enkele video's van de IDSF finale standaard.

The Wooden Shoe 2010, Zevenbergen

The Wooden Shoe was our second last competition of the season. Like always we were hoping to reach the final. This time the result was above expectations. We win the competition in a field of 18 couples and get 13 first places. Our best dance was the Slow Fox. Just before the adults, the finals of the senior classes were completed. It was nice to see the seniors' dancing. Normally seniors dance on Saturday but this was now reserved for the IDSF open. We were very happy with our first place in the D-class and thank all the people who cheered us on during the competition. Our lesson from the day before with Inga Hansart has certainly contributed to the result.

De "Wooden Shoe" was onze voorlaatste kompetitie van het dansseizoen. Zoals altijd, hoopten we de finale te bereiken. Deze keer was het resultaat boven verwachting. We winnen de kompetitie in een veld van 18 paren en krijgen 13 eerste plaatsen. Onze beste dans was de Slow Fox. Voor de adults werden de senior klassen afgewerkt. Het was zeer leuk ook eens de senioren aan het werk te zien. Deze dansen meestal op zaterdag, maar nu was dit niet mogelijk omwille van de IDSF open. We waren zeer blij met onze 1ste plaatst in de D-klasse en bedanken alle mensen die ons hebben aangemoedigd tijdens de wedstrijd. Onze les van Inge Hansart de dag voor de kompetitie heeft zeker bijgedragen tot het resultaat.

Let's Dance Championships, Amstelveen

We had no real expectations this competition. We were not able to practice, thanks to the volcano eruption we got stuck in Madrid. Taking into account the tips from Tony and Amanda Dokman, we focussed on standing straight and keeping our posture quality throughout all figures. A real challenge. This was rather successful in the first round and we qualified directly to the semi final. In the semi final we had more problems and we just didn't make the final. We were one cross short, next week better. Our end result was 8/20.

During this competition, I had the opportunity to talk to Robert Bogaart. I asked him why he didn't give us any marks in several competitions this year even if we made it to the final several times when he was in the jury panel. We had a very positive conversation and he watched our semi final. I could really understand the feedback he gave us and also the reason why he doesn't mark us. We are going to work on this together with our trainers. It shows; never complain about adjudicators, there is always a reason why they don't mark you. Thank you Robert for your feedback and possitive attitude.

We hadden geen grote verwachtingen deze competitie. Omwille van de vulkaanuitbarsting zaten we vast in Madrid met geen enkele mogelijkheid te trainen. Onze laatste les van Tony en Amanda Dokman in acht genomen, hebben we ons gericht op rechtstaan en presentatie in al onze figuren. Een echte uitdaging. Onze opzet was geslaagd in de eerste ronde kwalificeren we ons rechtstreeks voor de halve finale. Daarna hebben we problemen gehad onze presentatie te behouden. We kwamen 1 aantekening tekort voor de finale, volgende week beter. Eindresultaat was 8ste van 20 paren.

Gedurende deze competitie heb ik de kans gehad te praten met Robert Bogaart. Ik vroeg hem waarom hij ons nooit heeft doorgeplaatst dit seizoen zelfs als we in de finale stonden. Hij kon hier niet direct op antwoorden maar ging onze halve finale bekijken. Hierna gaf hij feedback en kon ik begrijpen waarom hij ons niet doorplaatst. We gaan zijn aandachtspunten meenemen naar onze leraars. Dit is een mooi voorbeeld voor alle dansers, minder klagen, de jury heeft altijd een reden waarom hij je niet doorplaatst. Hartelijk dank Robert voor je goede feedback en je positieve ingesteldheid.

Holland Dans Spektakel 2010, Cuijk

In Cuijk, there are always many couples participating. This year, the D-Class was 27 couples strong. It was a field with good quality dancers and we were expecting difficulties to qualify directly for the semi-final. We finished the first round in second place with 14 crosses. After a good performance in the semi-final we were announced as first couple for the final. We finished the competition in 7th place. A very unlucky situation, two adjudicators gave us all first places and the three other adjudicators gave us only 7th places. How is this possible? Luckily our trainers, Tony and Amanda Dokman have given us positive feedback on our progression. We are already looking forward to our next competition.

In Cuijk, zijn er altijd veel inschrijvingen. Dit jaar ook, in de D-klasse waren er 27 paren. Het was een sterk veld en we hadden toch wat moeilijkheden verwacht voor de kwalificatie naar de halve finale. In onze eerste ronde krijgen we 14 crossen, wat ons in tweede positie brengt. Na een goede prestatie in de halve finale worden we als eerste paar aangekondigd voor de finale. We eindigen de competitie op plaats 7. Hier hadden we zeer veel pech, twee juryleden plaatsen ons eerste in alle dansen, en de drie andere juryleden plaatsen ons 7de in alle dansen. Hoe is dit mogelijk? Gelukkig hebben onze trainers, Tony en Amanda Dokman, ons positieve feedback gegeven over onze vooruitgang. We kijken al uit naar de volgende competitie.

De Bruin's 42nd Championship, Kerkdriel

We almost decided not to participate in this competition because we didn't like the panel of adjudicators. We were convinced that they would look for other qualities in the couples than the dancing style (quality) we bring. Last week we received no marks from Robert Bogaart and again this competition he didn't mark us. In the final, he placed us last in each dance. We have to say he is very consistent. Many couples received a lot of marks and it was a close competition. We end in place 5 out of 17 couples. We are very pleased with this result and our dancing. We danced relaxed but still paid attention to presentation and quality of movement. For our feeling, all our dances were very good except the quickstep in the second round. Our slow waltz in the semi final was our best dance.

We hadden bijna besloten niet deel te nemen aan deze wedstrijd omwille van de samenstelling van het jury panel. We waren overtuigd dat deze jury naar een andere stijl of kwaliteit zochten dan de onze. Vorige wedstrijd kregen we geen markeringen van Robert Bogaart en deze week terug niets. In de finale gaf hij ons dan ook alle laatste plaatsen. We moeten toegeven dat hij zeer consequent is. Bijna alle koppels hebben veel krossen gekregen wat het een spannende kompetitie maakte. We eindigen op plaats 5 van 17 koppels. We zijn zeer blij met het resultaat en onze kwaliteit van dansen. Ons grootste aandachtspunt was goede presentatie en beweging zonder teveel spanning van het lichaam op te bouwen. We vonden al onze dansen goed behalve de quickstep in de 2de ronde. Onze wals in de halve finale was de beste dans.

Swinging World Trophy, Steenwijk

The result of this week's competition was very poor. We didn't make it to the semi-final and finish the competition in place 16 out of 24 couples in the D-class. The redance with 15 couples on the floor was extremely crowded and we decided to put our focus on movement and floor craft. We succeeded in this but lost also a lot of quality in the process. Probably this was not appreciated by the adjudicators. Better performance is expected for the next competition in two weeks.

Het resultaat van onze kompetitie deze week was zeer slecht. We zijn niet in de halve finale geraakt en eindigen op plaats 16 van 24 paren in de D-klasse. In onze herkansingsronde waren we met 15 paren op de vloer wat het enorm druk maakt. In deze ronde kozen we voor beweging om op te vallen. Hierdoor hebben we veel in kwaliteit moeten inboeten. Waarschijnlijk werd dit niet door de jury gewaardeerd. We verwachten een betere prestatie volgende wedstrijd in twee weken.

De Bruijn's Championships, Kerkdriel

We started our own video account on YouTube and here is the first video. The Slow Waltz in the NADB competition (D-class) in Kerkdriel. We are dancing with number 193, white dress. We reached the final and end the competition in place 5 from 14 couples.

We hebben onze eigen video profiel aangemaakt op YouTube en hier is onze eerste video. De langzame wals op de NADB competitie (D-Klasse) te Kerkdriel. We dansen met nummer 193, witte jurk. We behaalden de finale en eindigen op de 5de plaatst van de 14 paren.

Gooiland Trophy 2010, Hilversum

The Gooiland Trophy in Hilversum is one of the rare NADB Ballroom competitions in a regular Dance school. Almost all other competitions are in sport halls. It was a small competition with only 17 couples in our class (D-class). This week we changed parts of our Tango and Slow fox, which makes it more difficult. The first round and the semi final were successful. Together with 7 other couples we reached the final. In the final all dances were good except the Quickstep. This was a total disaster, we had so many problems with traffic on the floor that we completely messed up our program. In an angry mood we had to resort to basic steps and ended the tournament in place 7.

De Gooiland Trophy in Hilversum is 1 van de weinige NADB competities in een gewone dansschool. Bijna alle andere gaan door in sporthallen. Het was een kleine competitie en in onze klasse (D) waren er enkel 17 deelnemende paren. Deze week brachten we wijzigingen aan in onze Tango en Slow fox programma's. Dit maakte het wel wat moeilijker. De eerste ronde en de halve finale waren succesrijk. We bereiken de finale met 7 andere paren. In de finale gaan alle dansen goed, behalve de Quickstep. Deze was een totale ramp. We hadden problemen met het verkeer en verknoeiden compleet ons programma. Kwaad en teleurgesteld werken we onze Quickstep af met enkel basisfiguren. We eindigen de competitie op plaats 7.
